Dr. Gordon Moe is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto, Clinician-Investigator at Li Ka Shing Knowledge institute, and Director of the Heart Failure Program at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Canada. A Fellow of the Royal College of Physician of Canada, Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Cardiology, Fellow of Canadian Cardiovascular Society, and a Diplomate in the American Board of Internal Medicine. He completed research training at the University of Toronto and Harvard Medical School.
His clinical research activities involve the assessment of ultrafiltration and the use of biomarker including B-type natriuretic peptide and new biomarkers in the management of acute and chronic heart failure, as well as the quality of care in heart failure. He is also interested in the assessment of the interaction of ethnicity with cardiovascular disease.
He served in numerous industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials as principal investigator and co-investigator.
He has authored multiple peer-reviewed journals and presented in local, national and international scientific meetings.
Dr. Chi-Ming Chow is a full professor at University of Toronto, Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, Canada. He has an undergraduate degree in computer science from Brown University, USA. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at McGill University (Montréal, Québec) and Master of Science in Epidemiology at McGill University. He completed his training in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Cardiology at McGill University. He then pursued his clinical and research echocardiography fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University, MA, USA.
His academic interests include medical informatics and he has authored many popular medical education software programs (e.g. CardioMath, ECG Made Simple, iCCS for the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, iASE Guidelines App for the American Society of Echocardiography, CDA Clinical Practice Guidelines, iSVU Guidelines for the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, and Choosing Wisely Canada).
His other current areas of research include ethnic differences in cardiovascular disease and investigating new technologies in non-invasive imaging. He also works on using artificial intelligence/machine learning to improve cardiac imaging and patient care.
He has authored multiple peer-reviewed journals and presented in local, national and international scientific meetings.
Carlos is an experienced Clinical Research Program Manager at Unity Health Toronto. He has a medical degree background specialized in general internal medicine in the Philippines. He completed his Master in Science with a focus on Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Toronto, and a Master in Business Administration at Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Currently, an active member of the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research (APCR) and an associate member of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) and the Canadian Heart Failure Society (CHFS). Carlos is an Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Biology at Trent University (BIOM 4450Y, trentu.ca). He is also a co-founder of Ramp10Lab, a start-up consulting firm providing research, strategy, and financial consultations to a wide range of clientele. He also sits on the Board of Directors at MTIMA.org, a not-for-profit organization providing comprehensive medical education and quality diagnostic services (echocardiography) to Malawi, Africa.
Siobhan is graduate of Honours Bachelor of Science (with distinction), specialized in Biophysiology and minor in Life Sciences at Queens University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She has completed her training in Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, Tri-Council Policy Statement 2, and Health Canada Division 5.
